RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2008 DVD

£20.00
sold out

RNAS Yeovilton Airday 2008 treated us to a mix of thrills and spectacle and a surprise display in the form of the VAAC Harrier – an airframe not just of historical importance to the Navy but to its future too given the research work it's tasked with.

Sadly the strong winds kept the more delicate and precious types on the ground – we've included bonuses to show these from shows elsewhere - but some dramatic skies and skilful flying (and parachuting!) made it an event to remember.

The RAF made a welcome contribution with a full Typhoon display and a rare appearance by a giant C17 Globemaster III. Navy history was recalled by a Hunter and Sea Vixen, both in original livery and we include features on the Royal Navy Historic Flight and Fleet Air Arm Museum.

The Commando Assault is Yeovilton's big spectacle. It was as explosive as ever made all the more poignant by the fact that many of those taking part have been or soon will be serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

PlanesTV is proud to dedicate this DVD to them.

Bonus Features

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster. The Royal Jordanian Falcons Team Extra 300 Hawker Sea Hawk Avro Vulcan
