BUNDLED WITH SPITFIRE AIRSHOW DVD FOR A LIMITED PERIOD (DVD only)
Recorded over five years when Aviation Action cameras attended over one hundred events capturing 22 Spitfires on film. This video draws on the very best action and set pieces back to the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 1990 when 12 Spitfires flew together. There are no interviews or music. Narration is restricted in favour of the hi-fi stereo sound of Merlins and Griffons.
Our cameras fly with Test Pilot, Andy Shepton, through an entire sequence of the most exciting display on the airshow circuit - the Shuttleworth Collection's MkV at its Old Warden home. The combination of Shuttleworth's tiny grass airfield, the amphitheatre effect with a dog-leg crowdline and perimeter trees provide the stage for accomplished flying in an especially manouvrable clipped-wing variant of this famous fighter. Cockpit cameras, expert videography and stereo sound probably make this the most dramatic video footage ever released of a Spitfire on display.
SPECIAL NOTE
The reason for bundling these chalk and cheese titles together is to invite viewers to tell us if a remake of Spitfire Airshow over (say) a recent 5 years would be welcomed. The new "Spitfire" title is technically brilliant with stunning air to air photography, illuminating interviews and rare archive material. PlanesTV's Spitfire Airshow was made with 90s technology but a remake drawing on high definition material would also be technically brilliant but concentrate on actual take-off and flying footage from the ground, in-cockpit material and a narrated soundtrack that could be switched off to savour the aircraft sound. A perfect partner to the new title "Spitfire" advertised here. What do you think?
